Photography used to be an elective or a hobby that some of us pursued. Yet, the tide has changed and we are all photographers. Photography isn't optional. Yet, getting good at photography is a choice. And it's an endeavor that is worth pursuing with determination and force. Because getting better at photography can further your creative output and growth in your work and personal life. In other words, the better photographs you capture, the more you thrive. Watch this video on why photography matters and how you can improve your own craft.

San Clemente Connected: Farm-to-Table Edition

San Clemente Connected PhotoWalks: Farm To Table Edition
Saturday, November 2nd from 9-11am

Shopping locally & organically is becoming easier to do now-a-days. With the expansion of hipster-esque, boutique markets across the country, you can replace your generic supermarket with the gourmet shopping experience that rivals that of a professional Chef… but at a heavy price.

What is the alternative to over-priced consumables? How can you feed those hungry mouths deliciously, with the consciousness of the farm-to-table concepts, while saving money in the process?

The answer is simple; and luckily for us, it’s just a short drive up PCH!

Southern California farmers, chefs and concocters come in droves to sell their best offerings, fresh produce, deli meats & cheeses, oils, freshly baked breads and so much more at Dana Point’s Farmers Market. The DPFM occurs on select Saturday mornings at La Plaza Park from 9:00am to 1:00pm.

Join San Clemente Connected and the Jaquette of All Trades, photographer and personal chef: Rachel Fleischer, for our November #PhotoWalk as we explore Dana Point’s Farmers Market on Saturday, November 2nd from 9-11a.

Saturday October 5th was a beautiful day for World Wide PhotoWalk Day in San Clemente as we explored the hidden side of Trestles with our guide Julie Faith, San Clemente Pier Bowl Local, Graffiti and Street Art Photographer.

20 photowalkers showed up, about 15 made it to the end of the trail, a mixture of crazy kids and hip adults for a walk down the Panhe nature trail thru a world renowned graffiti gallery to a world class surf break. The paint was fresh and the surf was pumping. If you walked with us please share your shots here, and tag them everywhere else with #HiddenTrestles so we can find and share them.

Please enjoy this 15 min short of our hidden trestles photowalk.

North Beach Clean Up #SanClemente

This Saturday, September 14, at 3:30pm we are coming together at North Beach to help clean up our little corner of the world, but in so doing, we recognize that we are part of a global effort. There is so much power in that – plus, we’re gonna have a really good time! We hope to see you there.

If you’ve never done a beach clean-up, they are really fun. Not only are you helping the environment, but you get to be outside, enjoying the sun and beach. It is a win-win. One tip though: they provide those thin latex gloves. I recommend bringing your own rubber gloves (not leather or fabric). You’ll also want a hat and sunscreen, because even the late-afternoon sun can burn.

Dr. Kenn Gordon, spiritual leader for Centers for Spiritual Living, says, “We believe that prayer changes lives. We also believe that the only way God can accomplish anything is through us–God works in us, through us, and as us. We can pray that the hungry are fed, and we do, but we also need to take action to feed the hungry. We envision a world that is free of homelessness, violence, war, and hunger. World Day of Service is about taking action in our communities around the world so together we can create that world, a world that works for everyone.”

Q1)  What is a PhotoWalk?

A1)  A PhotoWalk is a gathering of people sharing tips and tricks while digitally grabbing a space & time, with the goal of sharing what is created back out to the world, usually thru the use of a hashtag.

Q2)  Ok a PhotoWalk is a gathering of people that take pictures and interact with each other and their surroundings, got it, Now what is a hashtag???

A2)  #Hashtags create a conversational space on all major social media networks. By using a hashtag you are self sorting the content you create, making it findable by the people who are interested in it.

*The hashtag we will be using is #SanClemente when you read it hear "Pound San Clemente"

So get outside, grab the kids, the dogs, and any kind of camera you do have and enjoy our little Mayberry by the Sea, you will be glad you did.
